PC connector

ssokIQ’s AI features (titles · thumbnails · descriptions · tags · chapters) are generated by Codex installed on your PC, using your own paid ChatGPT subscription. For security reasons, Chrome extensions can’t launch programs on your PC directly, so a small connector program links the two. You only need to install it once per PC.

Currently only Windows 10 and 11 are supported. No administrator rights are needed. Keyword and SEO analysis work without this program.
  1. Get a paid ChatGPT subscription

Any paid ChatGPT subscription, such as ChatGPT Plus, will do. There are no extra AI costs.

  2. Install Node.js

Download the LTS version from nodejs.org and install it with the default settings (just keep clicking "Next").

  3. Install Codex and sign in

Open Command Prompt from the Start menu and run the two lines below in order. When the second line opens a browser, sign in with your ChatGPT account.

    npm install -g @openai/codex
    codex login
  4. Install the PC connector

Unzip the downloaded file and double-click install.bat. If a "Windows protected your PC" window appears, click More info → Run anyway.

    Download the PC connector (Windows · 9 KB) ssokIQ-connector.zip · version 1.2
  5. Restart Chrome and check the connection

Quit Chrome completely and reopen it (close every window). Then go to the ssokIQ dashboard → ⚙ Settings → Check connection, and you’ll see "Codex connected".

Frequently asked questions

What does this program do?

It copies a small relay program to %LOCALAPPDATA%\ssokIQ\native on your PC and registers it with Chrome and Edge as "com.ssok.ssokiq". Only the ssokIQ extension can call this program, and AI requests go from Codex straight to OpenAI. They never pass through ssokIQ servers.

"Check connection" still doesn’t work

Check that ① you closed every Chrome window and reopened Chrome, ② codex --version prints a version in Command Prompt, and ③ you ran codex login. If it still doesn’t work, run install.bat once more.

I see a "usage limit" message

You’ve reached the Codex usage limit of your ChatGPT subscription. Try again later or check your ChatGPT plan.

How do I uninstall it?

Double-click uninstall.bat in the zip file to remove the copied files and the registration.

Does it work on Mac (macOS)?

Only Windows is supported for now. On a Mac, you can use keyword and SEO analysis only.
